Newsletter October

Autumn is upon us and at the pond we are preparing for winter.

We spent some of time this month tidying up the edges of the mud banks to make it easier for people to use the path by the pond in comfort.

Storm Amy took it’s toll around the pond. The large Willow by the Grange bank lost some big branches as did the Swamp Cypress by the bridge.

Chichester Council reacted quickly and cleared away the fallen wood, using some of it as a mulch for the hedge around the statue of Dante. They also mowed the Grange bank.

We planted two large new trees along the Jubilee Path a Bird Cherry and a Wild Service Tree. We’re looking forward to watching these two native species grow.
