Newsletter June 2026

A small but dedicated team worked hard on Saturday to uncover and clear around our tree saplings along the Jubilee Path. There has been a lot of bind weed growing around and smothering the saplings.

Sadly again tree protectors and stakes had been removed so we couldn’t find some of them. We painted the protectors and stakes white so we could find them again. Of the 103 saplings we planted 68 remain. Garden rubbish had also been dumped again which does not help.

We also worked around the Dante Statue area keeping that a pleasant area to visit.

Some really good news is that a summer visiting Reed Warbler was singing in the reeds by the south bank. He did not find a partner so moved on, but it is a good sign for the future.
