Our February working group was kept busy planting new trees and hedging plants in the area near the bridge. These were to replace trees that were blown down and to provide a nice backdrop for the statue of Dante when it is in place. We were helped by the Green Team who used chainsaws to get rid of a large fallen tree trunk.
Chichester District Council carried out dredging as planned. The purpose was to open up the channels around the islands to improve the flow of water. The material dredged was put on the large mud-bank near the grange and near the bridge.
