New interpretation boards unveiled at South Pond

On Friday 10th April, members of the South Pond volunteer group came together with representatives of Chichester District Council, Midhurst Town Council, and the South Downs National Park Authority to unveil a set of new interpretation boards. Featuring striking visual illustrations that represent the various wildlife, plants and trees that live in and around South Pond.

The project was the culmination of several years work and searches for funding. But thanks to the generosity of Chichester District Council in their funding, and the South Downs National Park Authority for financing and engaged the artist to produce the beautiful panels that now find home at South Pond.

The unveiling was carried out by Chichester District Councillor, Dominic Merritt. In attendance were the Chair of Midhurst Town Council, Richard Watts, and the Interpretation Officer from the South Downs, Emily Summers-Mileman.

“We hope these beautiful interpretation boards help people better understand how special South Pond is and how we can all care for it. We are grateful for the support of Chichester District Council and The South Downs National Park Authority with this project.
